Floods in Semarang City
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
Hello everyone, back again on my blog, Anisa Rahma Sari from class X DPIB 1 Number 05
Orientation
On Thursday, March 14 2024 to be precise, the area where I live in Semarang City was hit by heavy rain for 2 days. Very heavy rain caused several areas in Semarang City to be affected by flooding. Several areas were flooded due to heavy rain for 2 days due to overflowing river water. A number of local residents fled to neighboring houses that were not affected by the flood.
Event 1
This is the first time I have felt very heavy rain for 2 full days in the area where I live, namely on Tegalsari road, Semarang City. I am grateful because the area around my house was not affected by the flood. It's just that there are several rooms in my house, such as the kitchen and living room, where the water penetrates the walls. I found information on my social media that the heavy rain in the city of Semarang was evenly distributed in all places and even flooded, at that time I hoped that this flood would recede quickly, and make it easier for all of us to carry out our activities.
Event 2
Due to heavy rain and flooding, students were unable to travel to school. In the end, all schools whose premises were affected by flooding, teaching and learning activities were carried out online for 2 days, namely Thursday and Friday. Even though my house was not affected by the flood, I saw how difficult it was for Semarang residents who wanted to evacuate to other places or higher ground. Some of their possessions and belongings were swept away by the flood currents. Many motorized vehicles and cars also broke down on the roads due to flooding.
Event 3
All residents of Semarang City who were affected by the flood hope that there will be assistance from the government. I feel concerned when I see conditions like this, many people's houses have been flooded. In situations like this, solidarity and togetherness are the keys to overcoming the difficulties experienced by the community.
Reorientation
After two days of heavy rain which resulted in flooding in Semarang City, the situation is starting to improve. The water began to recede, and residents who had fled returned to their homes. Even so, the impact of the flood is still felt. Many houses had to clean up the mud and dirt left behind, and some infrastructure was damaged by the flood. The local government also provides assistance to affected residents to help restore their condition. Even though there were losses experienced, the spirit of mutual cooperation and solidarity between residents appeared strong in facing this disaster.
